Ant loves walking safaris, and, I must say, there is nothing nicer than getting out of a vehicle and walking with all the sounds and smells of the bush around you. It is possible to walk in all of Zimbabwe’s national parks, and it’s a great joy. During Ant’s safaris, he sometimes takes his guests away from his main tented camp to walk in a different area and stay overnight in a fly camp at a chosen picturesque spot. Fly-camping with Ant is a real treat. He has wonderful little net tents and comfortable bedrolls. A hot shower is provided by means of a bucket slung over a branch; there is a warm campfire with steak grilled over the fire served with baked potatoes, salad and a glass or two of rich red wine; a scops owl chirrups in a nearby tree. It is rare to savour such blissful peace.

There are always a number of interesting moments when out walking in the African bush. If you keep quiet and blend in well, you never know what might be around the corner.
